Plasma cutting machine

Plasma Cutting Machine Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner for dedicated plasma cutting machine procurement. We help plant buyers collect comparable factory quotations for a plasma power source, a mechanized torch package or a complete CNC table. Share metal grade, thickness, quantity and destination to request factory quotes. We do not claim factory ownership or brand-appointed reseller status.

Included and separately quoted

Base machine

  • State whether the RFQ is a plasma power source with torch, or a gantry table that already includes motion, nesting software and torch-height control. A published cut current in amperes is a source rating, not a complete workstation.
  • Standard tooling here means the torch, starter consumable set and any rails that the bidder lists on the machine line. Changeover nozzles, extra leads and spare parts lists belong on a named line, not inside a silent “kit”.

Product changeover questions

Plasma programs change when plate grade, thickness and feature mix change. Use this band to freeze what bidders must re-tool or re-program between mild steel production nests and occasional stainless or aluminium jobs. Buyer and supplier responsibilities stay split: you own the sample plate; the equipment supplier confirms feasibility; this desk coordinates quote comparison.

What changes between products?

Record the work envelope of the table, the thickest plate that must keep production edge quality, and the thickest plate that only needs occasional severance. Hole size, kerf and dross limits change with thickness. If you switch from air plasma to a dual-gas process, say so before comparing cycle time.

What must be cleaned or replaced?

Consumable stacks, swirl rings and shields wear with cut current and pierce count. Ask which nozzles are included versus extra, and who stores them. A table that also runs a different process later needs a documented torch swap, not an implied multi-process promise.

How is the first good output verified?

First-good output is a nested plate that meets your hole, corner and straight-edge criteria at the stated thickness, not the first spark. Capture programmed speed, gas, torch-height control settings and connected load. See recommended cutting versus occasional severance.

Replacement versus new installation for a plasma cutting machine

Existing process

Many plants already cut with a handheld source, an oxy-fuel table or an older gantry. Those routes hide different interfaces: rail pitch, slat condition, extraction take-off and PLC interface. A new power source dropped onto a worn table does not inherit the accuracy of a new CNC motion system.

State whether you want a drop-in plasma source for an existing table or a new route from plate infeed to nested parts, and which extraction or height-control hardware must be retained.

Site interfaces that change a plasma quotation

Which procurement scope is covered by plasma cutting machine?
Connections to confirm
Interface Buyer input
Electrical Voltage, phase and frequency for the source and for the table drives. Connected load in kW and supply frequency in Hz belong on the same sheet.
Utilities Compressed air demand, cooling water if required, and fume extraction volume at the hood. Extraction is often a separate vendor from the plasma source.
Controls Torch-height control, gantry motion protocol and nesting software licence. Ask who writes the start/stop handshake between source and table.
Is the quotation for a plasma power source or a complete CNC table?

Write the boundary before you rank prices. A source-only offer can omit the gantry, slats, height control, extraction and nesting licence. A table-only offer can assume you already own a torch package. Read how to separate source and table scope before treating two totals as comparable.
